Updating the design of the site and creating a fully responsive website will not only improve the site's search engine ranking (and as a consequence the traffic created for listed blogs). but will also make the site easier to use for visitors viewing the site on a mobile device.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We are also taking the opportunity to add a few new features to the site and to the directory listings. The site currently contains over 1200 pages, so it will take a while to complete the update. We aim to have it completed within a few weeks if possible.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
While the site is undergoing the redesign, visitors to the normal web address will be met with the following screen:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_K0XDk6fFRS2ENmsp7Vl4AhqTQXGQl2H8ONp_4Gye9ulEsCuFrtrhAG7wt2AEf9sQWI6D9pYoaM6DiFoB2-MNNwDbo8w-8cvJpKpe3SaEtlThGrGSG-BYY70AtnElCMehkTzNQ2mHacwy/s1600/Maintenance.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_K0XDk6fFRS2ENmsp7Vl4AhqTQXGQl2H8ONp_4Gye9ulEsCuFrtrhAG7wt2AEf9sQWI6D9pYoaM6DiFoB2-MNNwDbo8w-8cvJpKpe3SaEtlThGrGSG-BYY70AtnElCMehkTzNQ2mHacwy/s320/Maintenance.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
However, the full original site is still online and available for viewing. It can be found at the temporary address of:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="http://old.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/">http://old.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thanks for your patience during this update. We will have the new site available as soon as possible.</div>

We have updated the league tables to reflect last season's promotions and relegations and will now begin adding the football blogs that have been submitted during our summer vacation.<br />
<br />
As ever, if you notice any errors in the leagues that football plugs are currently positioned in - particularly for non English teams, and lower league teams - then please let us know and we will correct the error. We try to stay on top of how clubs are doing at every level of the game, but with the number of clubs represented on the <a href="http://footballblogdirectory.co.uk/">Football Blog Directory</a> then mistakes can happen.<br />
<br />
We look forward to your continued use and support of the site, along with looking forward to many more football blogs being added throughout this coming season.<br />
<br />
Don't forget that we also accept articles to include on the directory to promote your individual football blogs.<br />
<br />
We wish you all an enjoyable and successful football season!Football Blog Directoryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14519095707007213473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842522302540162143.post-86939476193063795752015-06-04T12:46:00.000+01:002015-06-04T12:46:08.545+01:00New Football Blog Listings Added May 2015There were 5 new blogs added to the directory during May, and none removed, bringing the total blog listings count to 460. Tips On The Contenders By MyBookie.ag<p>For many English football fans there is not much left to shout for or about this season. Most League teams have completed their seasons. Only the Premier League and play-offs are still active. If your team's season is done and dusted then one way of spicing up the remainder of the season is to have a punt on the outcome of the few positions still up for grabs. If you are new to betting don't worry. <a href="http://mybookie.ag/sports-betting-guide/five-betting-tips-beginners-know/" style="color:#000033;" target="_blank">Check this out to learn more about betting lines if you are unfamiliar with the terminology used</a>. Now all you need to do is decide who to back.</p><p>With only one full round of Premier League games to go, almost all of the key positions have been decided. Chelsea are champions, the top four are confirmed, and Burnley and Queen's Park Rangers will be playing Championship football next season. There are two big issues left to decide. Which two teams will be joining Aston Villa in the Europa League, and which team will be joining Burnley and QPR in the Championship. With the greatest respect to the Europa League, the battle to avoid the drop is the one that will grab attention and headlines. It is also the hardest to predict.</p><p>At the time of writing there are three teams still fighting to avoid filling the last relegation spot. Sunderland, Newcastle United and Hull City have the unpleasant task of sweating over their Premier League survival. <a href="http://www.espn.co.uk/football/leicester-city/story/2452812/nigel-pearson-relief-leicester-city-premier-league-survival" target="_blank" style="color:#000033;">Last weekend's results saw Leicester City and Aston Villa join those who have already secured survival, despite neither winning their respective games</a>. We are down to three.</p><p>On paper Sunderland look the safest. They could very well already have enough points in the bag. It would take an extremely unlikely combination of events to relegate the Black Cats. Unlikely but not impossible.</p><a href="http://footballblogdirectory.co.uk/Features/Who-Is-Going-Down-Tips-On-The-Contenders-By-MyBookie.php" style="color:#000033;">Read more...</a><br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02974737236361607661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842522302540162143.post-23576187740522267912015-05-01T15:11:00.001+01:002015-06-04T12:56:05.002+01:00New Football Blog Listings Added April 2015There were two new blogs added to the listings during April, and no blogs removed. The money being thrown at the sport from TV rights holders and advertisers is beyond the realms of any football club chairman from as little as even 10 years ago. Rather than seeing the bubble burst, which many doomsday merchants predicted, the money flowing into the game continues to rise at an extraordinary rate.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">All of this extra money flowing into the game should signal good news for every level of the game throughout the country. However, this does not seem to be the case. Grassroots football is struggling to survive and is facing bigger challenges to it's well-being than it has done in living memory. How can this be the case when the game has never been so well off financially?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The reasons that grassroots football is struggling are, in some ways, numerous and complex. The rise of the Premier League, and the dominance of media attention for clubs at the top of the game, has had negative consequences for local teams not at the pinnacle of the English game - consequences more dire the further down the football pyramid you look - as potential fans of local teams give their love, attention and money to Premier League teams from far away. As more fans drift away from local football to follow Premier League giants then so the media responds by giving even more attention to the Premier League and exacerbating the problem even further. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The inequality of a footballing environment, where the attention and money is focused on the top of the game, resulted in grassroots football becoming more and more reliant on the goodwill and support of local councils to promote local sport and continue to provide suitable pitches and facilities on which to play. The drastic government cuts to council budgets have seen many councils begin to sacrifice this support for young people's health and well-being through sport, in favour of other essential services.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Grassroots football is the lifeblood of our game and it needs help. The money exists within the game to help but it is not reaching the places it is needed most.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B__uY9iWEAAS1Fe.png:large" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B__uY9iWEAAS1Fe.png:large" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">In response to this problem, David Crausby MP set up an e-petition to call on the government to put in place measures to ensure that some of the money flooding into the top end of football was passed on to support grassroots football - and so ensure the long term survival of the game.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/66835" target="_blank">Save Grass Roots Football - http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/66835</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The petition states:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"></div><i>We call on the Government to ensure that grass roots football receives financial support from the Premier League.</i><br /><i><br /></i><i></i> <i>Every child should have the chance to take part in organised sport, but poor quality pitches and ever increasing fees are driving people out of grass roots football.</i><br /><i><br /></i><i></i> <i>Government cuts mean that many Local Authorities are no longer able to fund grass roots football; we need a bigger investment from the professional game. The Premier League is the focus of huge amounts of money in English Football, it is right for them to support football from the ground up to ensure its future.</i><br /><i><br /></i><i></i> <i>Global broadcasting rights give the Premier League as much as £5bn over three seasons. The Government must work with the FA and Premier League to ensure that 7.5% of broadcasting rights is committed to grass roots football.</i><br /><br />Visit any football forum and you will read ordinary football fans complaining about the mount of money focused at the top of the game and berating the fact that not enough trickles down to support clubs lower down the football pyramid.<br /><br />Listen to any pub conversation about football and it wont be too long before you hear somebody stating the opinion that the greed of the top clubs is killing the game in this country. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.footballfeatures.co.uk/2015/03/grassroots-football-in-crisis.html" target="_blank">Read more</a><br /><br /><br />Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02974737236361607661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842522302540162143.post-63920910193827641622015-03-14T08:28:00.001+00:002015-03-14T08:28:21.218+00:00Guest Football Writers Wanted!The <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/" target="_blank">Football Blog Directory</a> is on the lookout for guest contributors and writers.<br />
<br />
There are a number of opportunities for guest writers and contributors to showcase their own blogs and writing skills to other readers. Guest writing on established blogs and sites is an excellent way to promote your own blog and football writing. A credit at the end of a well written <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/articles.php" target="_blank">football article</a> has the potential to attract far more visitors to your own blog or football site than any number of adverts.<br />
<br />
The <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/" target="_blank">Football Blog Directory</a> features a <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/articles.php" target="_blank">football articles</a> section of the site which has been created specifically to allow blog owners and football writers to showcase their own writing skills. The primary purpose of the <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/articles.php" target="_blank">articles</a> section is as a tool for owners of blogs listed on the <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/" target="_blank">Football Blog Directory</a> to promote their own football blogs and blog posts by posting either an introduction and link to the full blog post, or a complete blog post with a link to the main blog. This facility is open to all blog owners whose blogs are already listed on the <a href="http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/" target="_blank">directory</a>.<br />
<br />
Listed blog owners can register to become verified contributors by completing the registration form here:<br />

Verified contributors are able to upload articles and posts at any time, without any need for pre-approval.<br />
<br />
However, the articles section is not limited to verified blog owners. Anybody can submit a football article for inclusion in the articles section of the Football Blog Directory. All articles are fully credited to the original author and (if wanted) can include contact details for other blog or football site owners to contact the author. Part I</h1>He started his career in Sweden at Malmo FF in the late 1990’s before being signed by Ajax where he made a name for himself under the current manager of Southampton Ronald Koeman. He later signed with Juventus for a fee of 16 million, and gained fame in Serie A by benefiting from his strike partnership with David Trezequet. In 2006, Ibrahimovic signed for rivals Internazionale, where he won individual awards including Oscar del Calcio and the Swedish Guldbollen, and was named in the 2007 and 2009 UEFA Team of the Year, in addition to finishing as the league’s highest goal scorer in 2008-09 while winning three straight Scudetti. In the summer of 2009, he transferred to Barcelona however his time at Camp Nou was short-lived. He decided to move back to the Serie A with A.C. Milan the following season, in a deal which made him one of the highest paid footballers in the world and cost the Italian club 24 million. He signed with Paris Saint-Germain in the July of 2012. His style of play has been compared to the Dutch legend Marco Van Basten, Ibrahimovic is one of the best finishers in the game and is regarded to be one of the best footballers of his generation. His spectacular bicycle kick for Sweden against England won the 2013 FIFA Puskas Award for the goal of the year. In December 2013, Ibrahimovic was ranked by the The Guardian as the third-best player in the world. In December 2014, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter named Ibrahimovic the second-greatest Swedish sports-person of all time. <br /><h2>Zlatan's Facts</h2>Fact No. 1: At the age of 15, Ibrahimović was close to quitting his football career, in favour of working at the docks in Malmö, but his manager convinced him to continue playing.[17] His idol was Brazilian star Ronaldo when he was growing up. Fact No. 2: Met Friend and Team-Mate Maxwell on First Day in Amsterdam, Ibrahimovic had already agreed to move to Ajax from Malmo, but it was on his very first day in Amsterdam that he would meet 19-year-old Maxwell, and the two have been friends ever since. Both players were born in 1981, both now are in their 30s, they have played together at Ajax, Inter Milan, Barcelona and now at Paris Saint-Germain. <br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">[Tweet "Do Think There Will Be Anyone Like Zlatan? Ever?"]</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="http://blog.betfect.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Untitled.png"><img alt="Untitled" class=" size-full wp-image-773 aligncenter" src="http://blog.betfect.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Untitled.png" height="324" width="590" /></a><br /><br /> Fact No. 3: The story behind the perfect goal. Just after the players celebrate, the camera cuts to Ajax midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart, sitting in the crowd, and he doesn’t look entirely pleased to see the Swede score the magnificent goal. Four days earlier, the Netherlands took on Sweden and moments before Ibrahimovic assisted a team-mate score for his country, he planted his foot on van der Vaart’s ankle, injuring the Dutchman, and started a feud that has lasted ever since. That is why the former Spurs midfielder doesn’t look entirely pleased when Ibrahimovic scores.<br /><br /> <iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZgqsaDnsEq8" width="420"></iframe><br /><br /><br /> Fact No. 4: After joining Ajax from Malmo, Ibrahimovic didn’t enjoy the best of times in his first season. The then-Ajax coach, Co Adriaanse, didn’t play Ibra very often and the Swede struggled to find his feet in Amsterdam. In a 2013 interview with the BBC, the striker revealed that Southampton tried to take him on loan, and it was something that Ajax were interested in allowing. Fact No. 5: Zlatan Takes Embarrasment on the Chin. Looking a frustrated and isolated figure upfront, Ibrahimovic tried to chase down the Lille defence, looking to force a mistake and create something for his team. Then it happened, the forward came rushing in and Chedjou, with the slightest of touches, nudged the ball in between Zlatan’s legs. What is even more brilliant about that moment is Zlatan’s reaction. A beaming wide smile appears on his face, he knows he has been done, but there is complete respect for what Chedjou has accomplished. He dared to Zlatan, and he won, well sort of.<br /><br /> <iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/a1QSlRaf1h0" width="560"></iframe><br /><br /> Fact No. 6: Ibrahimović was born in Sweden to a Bosnian Muslim father and a Croatian Catholic mother, who both immigrated to Sweden. Fact No. 7: Ibrahimović is fluent in Swedish, Bosnian, English, Spanish and Italian. Fact No. 8: Ibrahimović is the only player to have scored for six different clubs in the Champions League. Fact No. 9: Ibrahimović received an honorary black belt in taekwondo; he attended classes at the Malmö Taekwondo club Enighet as a child. Fact No. 10: He won a La Liga championship with F.C. Barcelona in 2009–10 and a Serie A championship with A.C. Milan in 2010–11. Special Fact: He loves kicking his team-mates!<br /><br /> <iframe allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/K7gyhiRGG40" width="560"></iframe> <br /><br />Lastly make sure you check out <a href="https://www.betfect.com/" target="_blank">Betfect.com,</a> Betting Revolutionised! <br /><br /> <em>Image from: lepiquedudimanche.fr</em>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02974737236361607661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842522302540162143.post-70094832531452662102015-01-18T11:20:00.000+00:002015-10-31T11:29:24.280+00:00Have The Swans Lost Their Wings? <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">Have the Swans lost their wings?<u1:p></u1:p> I think it’s best we firstly to talk about the drumming of Swansea in the hands of Chelsea. An emphatic 5-0 away win for the deadly blues, I don’t think anyone could have anticipated this score line. </div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">Where did it all go wrong? Let’s begin with the biggest January transfer window news so far, Wilfred Bony making his way to City, there is no wonder that the Swans struggled to even score a goal. Gomis the lone striker failed to make an impact as well as the early substitute Emnes and really the whole team were shooting blanks as there was no shots on target. </div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">I personally thought it would be a tight knit game but how wrong was I. Took the visitors 50 seconds to open the scoring, so the Swans were in trouble from early. Brought on by a misplaced pass to allow Oscar for his first of the match. However apart from the mistakes made by Swansea, Chelsea passed really well especially for the 2nd goal with Costa rounding it off or his 16th goal of the season. </div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">Mistakes galore! failed back pass to keeper let to 3rd goal. It was only first half and they conceded 4 goals. Swansea were truly outplayed in all departments. Passing with fluidity, confidence and looked like a side of champions I must admit. </div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;"><br /></div><div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;">Chelsea played fantastically but then again Swansea by far didn't have the best of games also. So Chelsea move 5 points clear head of City, and as we know City have a tough game, hosting the north London club Arsenal who are on a good run of performances.<br /><br />For more posts updates click on the icons below:</div><br /><a href="http://navidejlalisportsblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/have-swans-lost-their-wings.html" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtcsEVIqh1NCArEGPeyPyzN2bm8U4onm8C11bbKO_b8RoFumiWgneWIYEAjHF0_NAhTQbPgUTnxZsdOd0DDJGuJCPIXzso83bL1gW-RD-kWVp322yLQns7jbTISGOe1lAOWdzVrfBLUWRg/s200/blogger_iconSmall.png" /></a>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02974737236361607661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842522302540162143.post-88846460641744566762015-01-14T22:57:00.002+00:002015-03-18T18:40:56.937+00:00Points Updated For The Official 'Better Than All The Rest' FA Cup Prediction Game Groups Following Wednesday Night's Replays<div style="text-align: center;">
