Harry Redknapp and Steve McClaren. Two English managers who have experienced both success and failure. They seem to have almost nothing in common and even the small things they do share just highlight the differences between them. Take for example the fact that they both got drenched on a pivotal night in their careers. For Redknapp it was a celebratory soaking from a group of players after Tottenham had won at Manchester City to guarantee 4th place in the premiership and with it the luxuriant rewards of Champions League football. The impromptu celebration that interrupted Redknapps post match interview seemed to indicate that here was a man who was not only a successful coach but a popular one too.
