Saturday’s Wigan v Arsenal match viewing at Maggie McGarry’s Irish Pub in San Francisco was a resounding success. Not only did Arsenal demolish their opponent but a good crowd of Gooners turned up, and there was a fair amount of singing. Not always an easy ask at 7AM.
But the Bay Area Gooners are a fervent group of Arsenal supporters, regardless of the great distance from their club’s London home. They've been meeting at this pub in San Francisco’s historic North Beach district for just over 5 years, despite the challenges presented to American Arsenal supporters, such as kick-off times as early as 4:45AM.
