An Explosive match from the Eithad Stadium as rivals City and United went head-to-head.
Striker Wayne Rooney made it 1-0 to the away side after 10 minute after heading Valencia's cross past the goalkeeper. Defender Vincent Kompany got a straight read card in the 12th minute after a two-footed tackle on Nani (which he actually got the ball)
Danny Welbeck's clean volley made it 2-0 in the 30th minute and Rooney scored his 2nd in the 40th minute after he scored his penalty rebound.
Kolarov made it 3-1 after curling a 30 yard free-kick past Lindergaad in the 47th minute. Sergio Aguero gave City hope in the 65th minute after taking advantage of Paul Scholes' mistake.
United held the ball and despite City's efforts.... United progress through to the 4th Round.

They will now face either MK Dons or QPR.
