This match was played at Goodison Park where 11th placed Everton hosted 20th placed Bolton.
Tim Howard, the Everton goalkeeper scored a goal from 102 yards to make it 1-0 to the home side after 62 minutes. Former Liverpool striker David Ngog equalised for the away side in the 69th minute. Captain and defender Gary Cahill stole 3 points for Bolton in the 79th minute in what could be his last match in a Bolton shirt (as his move to Chelsea is now imminent).

7th placed Newcastle faced 2nd United at The Sports Direct Arena.
Striker Demba Ba opened the scoring with a volley from inside the box in the 33rd minute. Midfielder Yohan Cabaye made it 2-0 with an amazing free-kick in the 47th minute.
Defender Phil Jones rubbed salt into the wounds after miscommunication between him and goalkeeper Anders Lindergaad saw him head the ball into the net.
