Manchester clubs 1 Stoke 0


Today's Europa League Last 32 First Leg Results:


Ajax 0 Manchester United 2

Winger Ashley Young capped his retun to first-team football after an ankle injury with a goal in the 60th minute. Javier Hernandez doubled the visitors lead with five minutes to go after a lovely 1-2 pass with Rooney and Valencia was placed underneath the goalkeeper.
United have a (two) away goal advantage going to Old Trafford against the Dutch champions who have it all to do.

FC Porto 1 Manchester City 2

City flew to Portugal for a tough test against defending champions Porto. 
Hulk's presence was a danger throughout to City, and in the 28th minute his cross to Varela was converted into the net to open the scoring for the home side. In the second half, full-back Alvaro Pereira scored an own goal after the ball hit his shoulder while having a 50-50 with striker Mario Balotelli and flew past keeper Helton into an empty net.
Sergio Aguero scored a late winner for City after Yaya Toure picked out a pass which was placed past the keeper for a 2-1 win.

Stoke City 0 Valencia 1 

This match was played at The Brittania Stadium as Stoke hosted Champions League drop-outs Valencia in an interesting showdown.
Mehmet Topal scored the only goal of the match after 36 minutes from 30 yards out which dropped nicely into the net. 
There are always yellow cards when Stoke are involved in a match, 7 again yesterday.
