Football Blog Directory Offers Free Directory Listings For Football Blogs - Spread The Word!

Free blog directory listingsNew Blog Submissions Needed!

The Football Blog Directory is on the lookout for football blogs and we would like your help in finding them!

There are currently over 400 blogs, from 6 continents and 21 different countries listed. The blogs cover many different subjects and categories and provide for almost every taste.

There are two main aims of the Football Blog Directory.

The first aim is to provide football fans with a place to find football blogs. Nice and simple. The Football Blog Directory aims to be the place where football fans can come to find a blog on any football subject, any football club and any football league or tournament.

This means that we want as many blogs as possible listed from as many different countries, leagues and clubs. With over 400 blogs already listed, the directory is well on the way to providing an excellent choice of blogs to football readers. We'd like that choice to be even better though.

The second aim is to provide a central location to promote football blogs free of charge. The vast majority of football blogs are a labour of love, written in a blogger's spare time, with no time available for self-promotion. This is where the directory can help.

Football blogs listed on the Football Blog Directory, no matter how big or small they are, share in the joint publicity of being part of a larger blogging community. Blogs are not ordered by size or popularity. Blogs are listed by category and the choice of which blogs to visit and read is down to the visitor.

The Blog Directory also offers free inclusion in the site's RSS feed for listed blogs, which publicises each new blog post from members on the front page of the directory. It also provides a larger archive of recently published posts on the 'Blog Posts' page of the directory.

Listing your blog on the directory not only helps to offer football fans a bigger choice of bogs, but also provides listed blogs with the opportunity of increased visitors and readers.

There are still many clubs not represented and many more subject areas and writing styles to cover and include. This means that there are football fans and readers missing out on your blogs, and that your blog is missing out on potential visitors, readers and subscribers.

As more blogs are listed then more football fans will hear about and visit the directory. This in turn will increase the potential for new visitors to blogs listed on the directory. If you have a blog that is not listed then please visit the submissions page and submit your bog for inclusion:

http://www.footballblogdirectory.co.uk/submissions.php

We need your help in spreading the word about the directory. You can help by mentioning the directory on your own blog, perhaps even including a banner or link, and also by retweeting our links to your followers.

Thank you all for your continued interest in and support of the Football Blog Directory.

Happy Blogging!

Football Blog Directory
400 Blogs!!

There are now 400 football blogs listed on the Football Blog Directory.

The Football Blog Directory now lists blogs from every continent on the planet, with 19 different countries represented.

What is more, every link to every blog is checked daily to ensure that all links remain active and live. That means that every blog listed is a genuine, live football blog.

However, there is no limit to the number of blogs that can be listed, and many leagues, clubs, subjects and interests still unrepresented. So if you are the owner of a football blog then why not submit your blog for listing in the Football Blog Directory, and see your blog's visibility and readership increase.

Every blog listed gets it's own page on the directory. a direct link to the blog, inclusion on the member's blogs RSS feed, and the opportunity to promote your blog and blog posts in the site's articles section (along with direct links to your blog posts).

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted a blog for inclusion, to everyone who has contributed articles, and to everyone who continues to visit the Football Blog Directory. It is to all of you that the site owes it's continued success and growth.

Endangered Species: Grassroots Football

England, as a nation in the footballing world, may be on the up after a poor World Cup. However, bar the odd Euros win, you never hear about young English talent winning any continental competitions.

I think this starts right at the bottom.

Grassroots football.

Grassroots football is fading away more and more, and with less money being invested in the system where are the footballers of the future meant to come from?

Roughly, and I mean roughly, thirty-four million pounds is invested each year (twelve million from the FA and Premier League respectively and ten million from the government), but is that really enough? Once again, approximately, the Premier League makes around three billion pounds per year from the game we love. That is only around 0.4%.

0.4%!

If the Premier League truly wanted to improve the game they could give grassroots 0.8%, just 0.4%% more. and that would give them an extra twelve million to play with.

So, let's say the Premier League offered that extra tiny percentage to the grassroots development schemes. New training facilities, equipment, school teaching and the list goes on, could be added to the infrastructure of the beautiful game in England at lower levels. Give a child a football and he will play, it's that simple.

League Status Feedback Requested

Now that we are well into the new football season, we hope that we have everybody's teams listed as being in the correct leagues. However, with so many teams having blogs listed it is difficult to keep up with them all - particularly for non-league and non UK based teams.

If you do come across any mistakes, whether in the league listings or anything else, then please let us know by emailing footballblogdirectory@gmail.com and we will try and correct them immediately.

You can access our league listings in two ways. The first is by clicking the map on the homepage and then clicking down by country until you reach the country and league of your choice. The second is to use the text based listings on the category page.

We appreciate your continued interest and support of the Football Blog Directory.

Is Video the Future, or Are We Going to Live In the Old Fashioned Past?

The wrist watch worn by match officials to aid them with goal decisions
Goal line technology was introduced at all English Premier League grounds at the start of the 2013/2014 season. The technology proved to be a great help to referees, as with the watches and cameras nearly 99.9% of the decisions are right.

To put it simple, cameras are situated around the ground, in the goal, etc. Then if the hawk-eye system installed on the cameras decides that the whole of the ball has crossed the whole of the line, then it simply buzzes and flashes on the officials watches, signalling that it was a goal. This happens in a matter of seconds, and requires no stoppage for technical queries.

However, is it about time that referees are also aided by a 'video ref'? There are endless ways that this could work, even if each team had only 1/2 appeals per game.

If you go around the grounds on England nowadays, all you will hear is moaning about the officials. Sometimes, in fact most of the time, the moans and groans are correct. The refs are not robots, they will not get every decision right!

By simply adding a video referee, teams and angry managers could no longer complain about the decision. In some cases, one bad decision can cause an under pressure manager there job.
The new, and highly successful piece of equipment, vanishing spray
Next to be installed in the footballing world was the simple, but effective, vanishing spray, thus ensuring the wall or set piece taker does not encroach on the position the decision was awarded at. This so far has proved to be highly successful in the English top flight.

Although, the main point of this article is; if we carry on as we are doing, football will turn into a outdated, old sport. The sport itself needs to keep up with other sports, such as rugby and cricket where video referees are frequently asked to give a hand.

So what if there's two more additional minutes at the end of a ninety-four minute encounter, no one would be bothered. Everyone would get there moneys worth, and also, everyone would go home not complaining about that one dodgy decision that cost their team the game.

This is most definitely a thing that has to be looked into in the future.

A Football Blog A Day For A Year!

That's right! We can now provide you with a football blog for every day for a year, as we now have 365 football blogs listed on the Football Blog Directory.

Anyone mad enough about football to attempt to check out a new blog each day will find a huge variety of blogs now listed on the directory. By far the biggest category on the directory, as you would expect, is general football. There are also many individual club blogs (although some clubs are still yet to be represented) from many levels of the game in many countries. Dig a little deeper, however, and you will find enough quirky subjects and blogs to satisfy any range of interests - provided that interest is football!

The 365th blog listed was The Chairman's Notepad, a blog all about finances, economics and politics within football.

If your blog isn't listed yet then don't worry - there is still room for plenty more. Just fill in the submissions form and get your blog listed.
