City beat the Germans at home with goals from David Silva and Yaya Toure but despite their 2-0 win, elsewhere in the group, Napoli beat Villareal by 2-0 to ensure they qualify for the Last 16.

It is always late drama with United involved and we were not disappointed there.....
Striker Martin Streller opened the scoring in the 9th minute. Basel stayed ultra defensive for the rest of the match, scoring in the 84th minute with a cross by Shaqri not cleared away by the United defence taken by Frei. Defender Vidic was injured half way through the first half and although United pressed throughout the game, credit to Basel who took their chances.
This is the first time that Manchester United have not qualified for the Knock-out Stage since 2005.
